Freeway says doctors informed him to say his last goodbyes to Beanie Sigel following 2014 shooting.
During an in-depth interview with Billboard, Freeway recalled the 2014 shooting that left friend and fellow rapper, Beanie Sigel in critical condition. He revealed that although it was a “scary” situation, he was there for Beanie throughout his hospitalization.
“It was definitely scary,” Freeway said. “I was there with him through the whole time. I would go up to the hospital all the time and sit with him. Bring him, like, Islamic stuff ‘cause you know Beans is Muslim too. I would just try to get him in the right space spiritually. I was just by his side. It’s definitely a blessing for him to still be here ‘cause the doctors were saying that we’d have to say our goodbyes.”
Freeway also touched on his own health, during the interview. He says his numbers are good, and added that he’s currently on the kidney transplant list.

“Well right now all my numbers is good, I’m feeling good after my treatments and I’m actually active on the kidney transplant list,” he said. “I can’t turn my phone off ‘cause they can call me anytime. Like in the middle of the night, right now—anytime and I would have a certain amount of time to get to the hospital so they can give me the operation if they find a kidney that matches me, and I agree to that kidney…The most important thing is to keep up with your routine physicals. If you feel like something is wrong, go to the doctor.”
