His unfortunate passing shocked the Hip Hop community and promped the reaction of his peers. Elsewhere this week, Layzie Bone shares the story of Tupac interrupting a fight between himself and Suge Knight and The Game and 50 Cent apparently attended the same party without incident.
Phife Dawg Of A Tribe Called Quest Passes Away at 45
Hip Hop lost Phife Dawg on Tuesday (March 22). The family of the Tribe Called Quest member, born Malik I. Taylor, released a statement about the 45-year-old’s death.
“We regret to share the news that on Tuesday March 22nd, 2016, Malik has passed away due to complications resulting from diabetes.

“Malik was our loving husband, father, brother and friend. We love him dearly. How he impacted all our lives will never be forgotten. His love for music and sports was only surpassed by his love of God and family.”
Phife Dawg suffered from diabetes and had a kidney removed in 2008.
Mac Miller, Chuck D, Nicki Minaj, producer Just Blaze, among others offered their condolences on social media.

Layzie Bone Tells the Tale of Tupac Defusing His Fight With Suge Knight
Layzie Bone and Suge Knight got into a verbal altercation at a show Tha Dogg Pound was having in Cleveland, Ohio and Tupac helped defuse the situation.
“Suge tried to punk me out,” Layzie Bone says on VladTV. “I said, ‘Look here nigga, you in Cleveland. You won’t get out this mothafucka. But luckily Pac was still living. So when Pac came in, he’s like ‘Oh, these my niggas, these my Thugz’ so he kind of got Suge up off of that.”
Once Tupac showed up to the event it was all love from there.

The Game & 50 Cent Party Together Without Incident
The Game and 50 Cent both partied at Playhouse in Los Angeles on Saturday (March 19 ) with no issues.
The Game’s manager, Wack 100, commented on Instagram that he made sure there would be no drama between the longtime rivals.
