The cast of Tupac’s All Eyez on Me biopic has added a member, as actress Lian Amado has been enlisted to portray radio personality Angie Martinez in the film, according to the radio station that hosts Martinez, Power 105.

“What a dream!” Amado writes on Instagram with a photo of herself in costume as Martinez. “THANK YOU GOD. Thank you @lthutton @boomlife@someysinclair @iboogiecabrera for this opportunity! So excited to say I’m playing #AngieMartinez in the #Tupac film, #ALLEYEZONME. Grew up listening to her, want to make her proud!”

Martinez spent many years at the New York radio station’s rival, Hot 97, before announcing her departure in June 2014. She now hosting her own afternoon show at Power 105.

During her time on air, Martinez interviewed Tupac and covered his career. According to a recent interview with People for her forthcoming autobiography, My Voice, she says the news broke that Tupac was shot and killed in Las Vegas when she was on air.

“I had to tell the whole city,” she says. “Mind you, there’s no Twitter, no Instagram … People in New York found out Tupac died from me.”

Demetrius Shipp, Jr. is slated to play the lead role of the West Coast rapper in All Eyez on Me.
