Atlanta is one of the Mecca’s of Black music but not without the usual frivolous beef. Dem Franchize Boys, hit makers of White Tees and I Think They Like Mehave been taking pot shots at D4L, the masterminds behind the #1 most down loaded song in the country, Laffy Taffy.
Manager, Johnnie Cabbel spoke out on behalf of D4L this week.
“For months now we have ignored some of the negative comments and accusations that have been made by members of Dem Franchize Boyz.”Cabbel stated. “But I feel that the time has come to make our position clear on this matter.”
Cabbel also stated that Dem Franchize Boyz accused D4L of sabotaging their show and copying the two-step that D4L claims to have made a dance fad in hip hop culture.

“We understand…that sometimes when acts have nothing positive to talk about in their careers they resort to criticizing other acts that they feel are more successful.”
Cabbel finishes by saying, “We would much rather spend time talking about the positive things that D4L is doing: we climbed all the way to number two on the Billboard charts, we’re playing arenas and steadily making appearances across the country and overseas. It’s unfortunate that we have to interrupt such a positive stride to address something so negative, we have no beef with Dem Franchize Boyz or with any other group.”
