Waka Flocka Flame is featured on a Beat Maker app for users to create a soundscape for his recent “Wakapella” song. The app is available through Splice, a cloud-based platform for making and sharing music.
“In a generation driven by social content it’s imperative to stay persistent in curating that demand,” Waka Flocka Flame says to HipHopDX about the app. “The attempt at creating a community in any respect is one to advance rather than hinder. My release of Wakapella was an attempt at just that.”
On Splice, people can utilize pre-uploaded sounds from Lex Luger, Dot Da Genius, Pegboard Nerds and KSHMR to create a beat for Waka Flocka’s a cappella. They can then send their completed project to be heard by the Atlanta rapper.
Waka Flocka Flame released Flockaveli 1.5 as a mixtape in November. He has said that Atlantic Records is blocking the release of Flockaveli 2, the follow-up to his 2010 album.
