You may know him as Agallah Don Bishop, Swagallah or 8-Off the Assassin, but regardless of the name, Agallah Faro’s dedication to his craft has never wavered.

As a trusted and studious disciple of microphone wielding, Agallah Faro is taking full advantage of the vast opportunity the independent route affords a solo artist and it shows on his latest release, Bo The Legend Of The Water Dragon, a HipHopDX premiere. The 11-track offering puts Agallah’s cinematic storytelling ability on full display envisioned from his unique Brooklyn frame of mind.

“I started this project before Sean Price passed away,” Agallah tells DX of Water Dragon’s origins. His late, great Brownsville neighbor appears on the bare-bones record “Brooklyn Emcee Murderers,” which only adds to traditional Hip Hop fans a particular sect of fans constantly yearn for.

A veteran of the circuit, Agallah feels like his new project is his awakening to the masses, and he will no longer be “slept on” or “overlooked by his peers.”

“I just want the money I deserve,” he continued. “[Too many] more less deserving artists getting more opportunities that I could have being I paid so many dues for 20 years. It’s time for an O.G. to teach these young cats how to respect the pioneers who built the way. If they wont give it to me, I’ma take it. Bo is me taking back my respect from any and all competitors. Fuck all the other rappers out. This is business, nothing personal.”

“I come from Brownsville where you dont live past 21 [years-old]. These inner city kids forgot where Hip Hop comes from NYC. I’m here to return Hip Hop to its rightful Mecca. I done too much to be overlooked–the streets know. The industry always tries to pull wool over my eyes.”

The project is executive produced Nick Schwindt a.k.a. Drop Jewels, who has been given the nickname “The New Rick Rubin” by Raekwon himself. Planet Asia and Cadalack Ron also make appearances and Agallah masterfully handles a great deal of the production himself alongside other contributions from Chris Prhythm and J.O.D.
