iLoveMemphis, the name fits the man. He loves his hometown and says it’s not as bad as it used to be in the inner city.

During a recent interview with HipHopDX News Editor Soren Baker, the “Hit the Quan” rapper explained how his native town is making a comeback.

“I’m from North Memphis and that’s the bottom,” he said via a segment of today’s (December 17) DX Daily. “That’s where you kind of have hard times. Yo Gotti’s also from North Memphis but Memphis has gotten better as far as poverty. It’s really turned up. This is our year. We got “Hit The Quan” going on, Memphis Tigers, they beat Ole Miss, they undefeated. It’s a blessing.”

iLoveMemphis also explained why he believes Memphis has always been a magical place for music.

“Memphis is one of those cities where you see something better,” he said. “Memphis is also where Martin Luther King took his last breath and it’s where Elvis Presley is from. It’s a lot of big history in the city, man.”
