Responding to a twitter comment about potentially touring with Kendrick Lamar, Wale says that he hasn’t talked to the TDE rapper. It hasn’t been for lack of effort on Wale’s part, though, the rapper says.
Kendrick Lamar “ain’t answered that phone since the last nomination,” Wale writes on Twitter today (December 7). “I get the Demi lavato treatment from him now. It’s hard out here.”
Wale then appears to comment on the critical reaction Kendrick Lamar received for his To Pimp A Butterfly album, which was nominated for Best Rap Album of the year, the Grammys announced today.
“”New black soul” unless ur Wale then it’s too many instruments and hard to understand,” writes Wale, who released his The Album About Nothing in March. Wale’s project was not nominated for Best Rap Album of the year.

Kendrick Lamar’s TDE labelmate Jay Rock responded to Wale’s tweets.
“@wale I SEE WHY U NOT MMG. SMH,” Jay Rock writes on Twitter today.
Jay Rock’s comments likely refer to Meek Mill’s assertions this year that Wale is not a member of Rick Ross’s MMG, the label to which Meek Mill and Wale are signed.
