In two separate videos uploaded to Instagram this month, rapper David Banner posed several questions to those who follow him on the social networking site. The various questions he asked centered on the use of the n-word by rappers who aren’t Black or are bi-racial.
He went on to ask why artists who aren’t Black will use the word “nigga,” but won’t use words such as “cracker,” “devil,” or other derogatory words.
“Have you ever wondered why White rappers, or half-Black rappers, or whatever you want to call them, they always wanna say the word ‘nigga,’ right? But they never say ‘cracker,’ or ‘devil’ or any other derogatory term about any other race, but Blacks,” David Banner said in his Instagram post.
Banner followed his first upload by asking Black people where they draw the line in regards to the use of the n-word and other issues/concerns.

“So, this question is for the Black people? Where do you draw your line? What can’t people call you? What can’t people pay you to do? When is it enough? What do you stand for,” he asked.
In addition to speaking on matters concerning race on social media, Banner has also offered his thoughts on race in interviews.
During an interview with Vlad TV, which was published earlier this year, the Mississippi-born musician spoke on the n-word after being asked about rapper and son to Tom Hanks, Chet Hanx.
“People always want to say that we should give up the way we feelin about the word ‘nigga.’ When really you should give up the power you got from slavery in America,” Banner said.
