YG spoke to KMEL’s Shay Diddy about when he got shot in the hip last month.

YG says that his daughter was at the studio earlier that day.

“It was just wild,” he says.

The rapper says that he originally wanted to record his album in Atlanta, but those plans didn’t work out. The shooting happened in the Studio City section of Los Angeles outside of the studio where he was recording Still Krazy, the follow up to 2014’s My Krazy Life.

“That’s the reason why I don’t be in LA recording my album,” he says, “’cause you sit somewhere for too long and somebody might find out.”

YG says that he further addresses the shooting on the single “Twist My Fingers.”

“I’m just stating facts,” he says of the track, “what’s going on right now, how I’m feeling right now.”

YG explains why he deleted all the pictures off his Instagram except for one of him in bandages recovering from the shooting.

“I was like, ‘Fuck everything,'” he says. “I’m taking off all my pictures from Instagram. Fuck that shit. Ima come back when I come back. I just had to chill out, sit think, get my mind right. When you, when somebody get shot, it’s either you gonna about it or you gonna, you feel me?”

YG says he consulted Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent on Still Krazy, which has yet to receive a release date.
