Large Professor is due to press Re:Living solo album June 9.
“I’m moving forward,” he says in a press release. “But I went back to an earlier formula. With this project I feel like it’s the closest that I take it back to that Main Source style.”
The project promises “crisp drums, razor-sharp scratches, and innovative uprock groovescrisp drums, razor-sharp scratches, and innovative uprock grooves.”
Singles to date include Nas tribute “In The Scrolls,” Fortune-assisted “Own World” and “Opulence,” which was released today (April 15).

The revered producer released tracks with Eric B. & Rakim, Kool G Rap and others in the early 1990s and also was a part of the group Main Source, whose Breaking Atoms album was critically acclaimed. Large Pro’s style of sampling and layering on the project heavily influenced Rap production and he has also worked extensively with Nas throughout his career.
