9th Wonder, Meek Mill and Lecrae are among the artists who have commented on the death of Walter Scott, an unarmed Black man who was shot and killed by a White South Carolina police officer Saturday (April 4).
Video of the shooting posted by The New York Times went viral yesterday (April 7) and Michael T. Slager, the officer who was allegedly shown on video shooting Brown in the back several times, has been charged with murder.
“Cop should b treated the same way that man would b treated if he killed a white cop,” Meek Mill wrote on Instagram “…locked in a cell 24hrs a day on death row! If it wasn’t a camera involved he would b at home with his family like it was another day at work! Of course they gone prosecute him because it’s no way 2 get around it but he should receive the max bcuz he’s a cop and he should know better!!!”
