Immortal Technique was arrested Thursday (March 26) on suspicion of assault and robbery in connection with street vendors who were allegedly bootlegging t-shirts with his namesake.

According the the police report, the Harlem native was booked in Santa Ana, California. Despite the arrest, Technique, who is co-headlining the People’s Champions Tour along with Talib Kweli, still performed a truncated set.

Santa Ana police also apprehended Tech’s tour manager, Steven Alexander McDaniel. The two have since posted their $50,000 bail and have been released. They were officially charged with suspicion of robbery and attempting to prevent or dissuade a victim from reporting a crime.

The alleged crime began when the street vendors claimed to have been met by 10 to 12 Immortal Technique affiliates at about 7:45 p.m. Subsequent to the removal of the victim’s t-shirts, cash and cell phones the incident reportedly turned violent.
