More than a year after he made the initial announcement, Lloyd Banks says hisCold Corner 3 mixtape is finally set for release.

“Right now they can expect the Cold Corner 3,” Banks said in a recent interview with HotNewHipHop. “A lot of people don’t know but I been working on multiple projects. They just think, ‘Oh, he’s taking forever on this one thing.'”

During the interview with the four members of G-Unit, Lloyd Banks also addressed Bobby Shmurda finding viral success with a beat he himself rapped over first.

“I wasn’t trying to make a hit record,” Banks said of his song “Jackpot,” the beat to which fueled Shmurda’s “Hot Nigga” shortly after. “That beat, wouldn’t it be considered to be a trap beat now? I couldn’t rap trap to it two years ago because it would’a been compromising, at least in my eyes, what my core fans were expecting from me. That’s like even if a West Coast artist, they come to the city, they might wanna rap over ‘Deep Cover’ or some shit, they wanna show that they can do, but it don’t mean his flow is gonna sound like New York, he could still put his sound into it. So that was my way of doing a trap beat, but not rapping a trap cadence. But like now, if you look at a record like ‘Exclusive,’ that’s on the Before The Beastmixtape from Young Buck, you’ll see that I can do that shit. I can rap in similar cadence as the other guys, and they’ll get that, cause I got a lot of tracks coming out in the future. I was happy for Bobby Shmurda because at the end of the day he got a chance to feed his family and stuff like that. On top of that, look at the situation he’s in right now. I hope everything goes well for him.”
