Immortal Technique has expressed his opinion on Floyd Mayweather’s commentary regarding Ray Rice after the boxer said the NFL overreacted in suspending the player indefinitely.
“I always defended you. @FloydMayweather But the Ray Rice comments were just wrong and ignorant. Be a better man than that,” Technique said in the Twitter statement.
Mayweather said the following regarding Rice on Tuesday, September 9, according to ESPN.
“I think there’s a lot worse things that go on in other people’s households, also,” Mayweather said. “It’s just not caught on video, if that’s safe to say.”

The following day, Wednesday, September 10, Mayweather apologized for the comments.
“Whoever I offended I apologize,” he said. “I am only human. Domestic violence is something I don’t condone.”
Mayweather has had his own issues with domestic violence allegations. He pleaded guilty to reduced domestic abuse charges after a former girlfriend said he hit her in front of their children. He has said he’s innocent despite pleading guilty. The reduced charges helped him avoid a potential 34 years in prison, according to ESPN, but the boxer spent two months in jail in 2012.
Last week, the boxer’s former fiancee, Shantel Jackson, filed a civil lawsuit, saying he assaulted her and that he humiliated the model by saying she had twins aborted on Instagram.
