As reported in a HipHopDX exclusive today (July 9), Nas has signed Fashawn to his Mass Appeal imprint. Upon making this announcement, Fashawn has also revealed the release date for his Mass Appeal debut, The Ecology. 

The Ecology is set to be released September 30. 

In today’s report on the signing, Nas confirmed his appreciation for Fashawn. 

“Fashawn is one of the most underrated in the game,” Nas said in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “The world is gonna know soon. We’re excited to have him as a part of the family.”

Fash also spoke about how The Ecology has evolved over the years. 

“I took the time to really work on this project because I knew it would be important not just for my career, but for Hip Hop,” Fashawn said. “I can’t wait to finally share my new project, especially through a label that gets my vision.”

After the announcement was made, Fashawn Tweeted about the album and the signing.

UPDATE: Fashawn’s The Ecology release date has been pushed back. The album is slated to be released early 2015, according to a Mass Appeal representative. 

Today (September 30), Fash released his first single, “Golden State Of Mind,” a Dom Kennedy-assisted song that is produced by Exile. The song’s cover art was photographed by Evidence. Listen to Fash’s “Golden State Of Mind” here
