Wale is no longer managed by Roc Nation, according to XXL.
The website says a Wale representative has revealed that the rapper is going to be managed by 77 North Management, leaving behind his five-year stint with Roc Nation’s management team, as reported by XXL’s Dan Rys.
The change is not a sign of a falling out with anyone at Roc Nation, the report says. Instead, the management shift is “about doing what’s best for Wale’s career,” according to Rys.
Wale is reportedly focusing on finalizing his upcoming album, The Album About Nothing. Jerry Seinfeld is set to appear on the project, as reported in 2013, when the comic spoke about his work with the rapper.

“I got the call from Wale and DJ Omega here,” says Seinfeld, whose famed television series Seinfeld inspired the album title. “They called me to come in. I had to be here. If I’m going to do this, this is the guys I’m going to do it with. And now I did it, and that’s it.”
