In honor of the 200th Anniversary of Haiti’s independence, island-native, political activist and Grammy-winning artist Wyclef Jean is dropping Sak Pase Presents: Welcome To Haiti Creole 101 on October 19 through Koch Records. It will be Clef’s first release from his newly created label Sak Pase, which means ‘What’s up?’ in Creole. “I have always incorporated elements of my heritage into my music and videos,” Clef explains. “But this album represents a total unification of my two worlds.”

Two new CDS starring Mos Def are coming Nov. 2. First, Mos Def Presents: U Know The Flex Mix Tape Vol. 1, which includes his underground hit “Beef,” and UTD (Urban Thermo Dynamics)’s Manifest Destiny — both from Illson Media, a new imprint from DCQ. Jurassic 5’s Chali 2NA drops his mixtape Fish Market on Nov. 9. The 17-cut CD is blended by Slum Village’s resident DJ, DJ Dez and includes collabos with Linkin Park, Dilated People’s Evidence and Rakka, Kardinal Offishal, Supernatural, Rasco and J5 members Akil and Marc 7.
