Fresh Daily is set to headline the launch of The Blueprint tonight in New York City’s Webster Hall (February 5). The Blueprint will include an open mic sign-up as well as performances by Ciph Boogie, Raze, and Al Boges.
“The Blueprint showcase should be a fantastic rite of passage for emcees in [New York City],” Fresh Daily says in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “At a time in Hip Hop where artists are given the trophy before actually running the marathon of due process, a showcase where showmanship and skills are at forefront of live performance is sorely needed. I feel honored to be asked to pop the inaugural show off.”
Clarence Fruster, host and founder of The Blueprint, describes the showcase as, “An effort to have something be organic, raw and authentic while maintaining professionalism and encouraging dialogue. We are looking to create a progressive Hip Hop space.”
Guest panelists include Birthplace Magazine Editor-in-Chief Manny Faces, Alvin Akinti of Cornerstone’s1200 Squad, Joann Gomez of Music Looks Like This, and Move Forward Music’s Alex Damashek. There will also be a J Dilla themed deejay set by DJ Buffalo.
