According to a report released today (December 29) by TMZ, “Love & Hip Hop” cast member Chrissy Lampkin was arrested early in the morning stemming from an altercation with another woman in a New Jersey bar.
Lampkin, who is well-known in part due to her publicized engagement to Harlem rapper Jim Jones, was featured as a main character on “Love & Hip Hop” throughout the series’ first two seasons. A spin-off series chronicling the lives of the couple, titled “Chrissy & Mr. Jones,” was launched in September of 2012. The second season of “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” premiered in October of this year and concluded with a season finale earlier this month.
TMZ cites a police department source from Edgewater, New Jersey, the locale in which the incident occurred, as providing the news that Lampkin was taken into custody shortly before three in the morning. The same source told TMZ that the injuries sustained by the victim were severe enough to warrant a visit to a nearby hospital as she required stitches above one eye.
TMZ describes the altercation as beginning when the victim “accidentally bumped into someone” while sitting on the same sofa as the “Love & Hip Hop” cast member.

Lampkin was released on bail shortly after being detained. According to TMZ, Chrissy’s fiance, Jim Jones, provided bail.
The arrest comes as the second in recent months for the “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” couple. As reported by HipHopDX in October, Jim Jones was arrested for driving under the influence after being pulled over in New York. Jones refused a breathalyzer at the police station and the rapper was reportedly booked for driving under the influence of drugs.
That DUI arrest was only the most recent legal trouble Jones faced in 2013. Even earlier this year, in February, Jones was arrested for disorderly conduct after failing to cooperate with police officers near his home in New Jersey. According to an article released by the Fair Lawn-Saddle Brook Patch, Jones “got out of line” with the officer, denying the warrants’ existence, and refusing to travel to the police headquarters to settle the warrants. As a result, the Dipset emcee was taken into police custody.
