The ex-Terror Squad member and Big Pun protégé Triple Seis is set to drop his debut, Only Time WIll Tell on August 17.
Triple Seis on his debut: “My album is called Only Time’ll Tell because that’s been my theory, my motto. Whether it’s good or bad, it’s just going to take time to find out. If you work at it, hopefully, good things will happen. It was done about a year ago. I did this album when I left Terror Squad. It’s about to come out through an independent label, Madd Records. It’s just another step in the ladder climbing toward my success. It’s all hard work. Ever since Pun passed away it’s more work for me to do. Because when he was here, not that it was a walk in the park, but it was already a path that we was set. Our destiny was already set.”
On Big Pun the prankster: “We’re in the studio one day and he had purchased guns that shoot blank bullets. So I come in and I didn’t know he had it and so he stages a fight. He pulls out the gun. He shoots the guy. The guy goes down. I’m bugging like, ‘What we gonna do with the body?’ He got me nervous. It was to the point where he couldn’t hold the laughter in anymore. Then they did the same thing with the engineer after that. But he put a strawberry on his head, and he told one of the crew members, ‘I trust you with all my life. Shoot the apple off my head.’ The engineer was going ballistic.”
