The legendary West Coast hip hop collective, the Likwit Crew (Tha Alkaholiks, King Tee, Defari, Phil Da Ag), is preparing to launch a monthly hip hop club night to showcase the top artists on the left coast as well as create a place for national artists and music fans to come together.

“It was just one of those things where we thought, why haven’t we ever done this,” says E-Swift, producer/emcee of Tha Alkaholiks. “We get asked to play L.A. all the time, and artists in the Likwit Crew do as well. So we thought, why not put something together ourselves, invite other artists, friends and fans and just throw a big party every month.”

“Right now the West Coast scene has been dwarfed by the South, Midwest and East Coast”, says Jeff Antebi, Waxploitation CEO and partner in Likwit. “To get things cooking again here, it’s important to jumpstart a vital scene from scratch. With all the talent in Los Angeles, in the Bay Area, in San Diego, it seemed good to just set this in motion and let momentum take it from there.”

The debut Likwit Crew night will take place July 29th at Club Likwit (7021 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028) and will feature Tha Liks, Danger Mouse and other members of the Liquid Crew.
