This week, Busta Rhymes revealed that he and Eminem will “battle” on Busta’s forthcoming Extinction Level Event 2, and Drake revealed that while he did some relationship fixing with Nicki Minaj, things between him and Kendrick Lamar might not be so great.
Busta Rhymes & Eminem To “Battle” On “Extinction Level Event 2”
A record that failed to make Busta Rhymes 2006 Interscope The Big Bang but still excited fans was “Hurt You,” which featured Eminem.
Now, a properly-released Busta/Eminem collaboration will be coming on Busta’s Extinction Level Event 2, which Busta says is quite competitive.

“I’ve got a six-minute record with Eminem that sounds like we are respectfully trying to battle each other in a way that you probably never heard us battle in our entire careers on a record.” Busta Rhymes said in an interview with XXL. “So it’s lot of real incredibly golden moments for us on this project.”
E.L.E. 2 is slated to feature Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Q-Tip, and more, and will likely drop in November. The album is a follow-up to 1998’s Extinction Level Event – The Final World Front, which featured the “Psycho” theme-sampling track “Gimme Some More.”
Drake Says He Fixed Relationship With Nicki Minaj
One of the oft-discussed tracks from Drake’s latest album, Nothing Was The Same, is the track “Tuscan Leather.”

“I gotta stay with the family,” rhymes Drizzy on the track. “Not even talkin’ to Nicki / Communication is breakin’ / I dropped the ball on some personal shit, I need to embrace it / I’m honest. I make mistakes. I’d be the second to admit it / Think that’s why I need her in my life, to check me when I’m trippin’.”
In an interview with Los Angeles radio station Power 106, Drake said his relationship with Nicki improved after the track was recorded.
“I started this album a year and a half ago, and it did kind of go in chronological order, for the most part. That song kind of picks up at an earlier point in my life. I had done something that I had to just reevaluate and fix. We’re good. We definitely talk. I saw her the other night. It was all love,” he explained.
“I choose to express personal things in my music and I don’t ever do it with malice,” continued Drake. “I hope that when she hears that line, she understands that what I’m saying is that she’s necessary in my life and that I care about her. It’s never with bad intentions. I did express that, and I did also fix that, which I’m happy about.”

Drake Lost Respect For Kendrick Lamar’s Sentiments On “Control”
Though countless fans and emcees have reacted to Kendrick Lamar’s verse on Big Sean’s “Control (HOF),” count Drake among the unimpressed.
“He didn’t come in there on some wild, ‘I’m in New York, fuck everybody.’ I almost wish he had come in there on that shit because I kind of lost a little bit of respect for the sentiment of the verse,” said Drake in an interview for CRWN with Elliott Wilson. “If it’s really ‘fuck everybody’ then it needs to be ‘fuck everybody’. It can’t just be halfway.”
“He’s the new guy to love and rightfully so,” added Drizzy. “He’s super talented…That verse was a moment to talk about. Are you listening to it now, at this point in time? But it was real cool for a couple weeks. But if I ask you, for example, how does that verse start? Mind you, it’ll go on and Complex or Rap Radar will give it ‘Verse of the Millennium’ and all that shit or whatever…I remember somebody asked if Kendrick Lamar is my biggest competition in this generation. I think Kendrick has the utmost potential. I see Kendrick tomorrow, I’ma dap him. I didn’t feel a way about the verse. I get it. I get the moment. And I know that verse had no malice behind it because I saw him five days later at the VMAs and it was all love.”
