The debacles at The Source have been discussed, criticized and speculated on for years. It was all going to come to a head with the release of the Beef 2 DVD today. That will not happen because the DVD has been pushed back until August 31st.
Sources have told hiphopsite that Image (the distributor), had other deals on the table with The Source and had to comply with the mag’s wishes to remove the near 30 minutes of footage exposing them. Even better is their contact claiming “nobody is ready to die for that shit.”
The footage highlighting The Source’s feuds with both Eminem and XXL had interviews with Eminem, 50 Cent, D-12, Elliot Wilson, Dave Mays, Benzino and former editor Selwyn Hinds. Among the topics discussed in detail are the infamous stories concerning the original Mind Squad leaving after the Made Men fiasco, the last minute changes to album ratings and plenty more of Benzino’s shameless tactics.
