Tuesday, June 15th was 2Pac’s date of birth. If the legendary emcee was still with us he would be 33 years old. In celebration of the day, organizer Candy Man threw a star-studded party for Pac, with performers handpicked by Pac’s stepfather/activist Mutulu Shakur.
Appearances included Chuck D, Digital Underground, The Outlawz, Immortal Technique, spoken word artist Amanda Diva, Saigon, Sway of MTV and others. The party took place at The Coral Room in New York. Other stars such as Kanye West, Ghostface and Treach were all on hand.
The proceeds from the event went towards Mutulu’s legal defense fund and the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center For The Arts fund. Mutulu, well-known at one of America’s highest profile political prisioners, is in prison for bank robbery charges.
