In the great tradition of the global Olympic torch run, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs is acting as one of New York City’s torch bearers as it makes its way to Athens for the 2004 Olympic Games this summer. “Words cannot express how proud I am to be carrying the Olympic torch for my home, New York, N.Y., the greatest city in the world,” Diddy said.
While in New York the torch will be carried through each of the five boroughs, pass the former site of the World Trade Centers, across the Brooklyn Bridge and ending up at the Statue of Liberty.
The torch was set on the 38 day journey this past Wednesday, June 2nd from Athens. The torch will be back in Athens for the opening ceremonies on August 13th, 2004.
