New Orleans, Louisiana emcee Curren$y and his Jet Life crew are looking to innovate the way mixtapes are released. The collective which includes Young Roddy, Corner Boy P, and former No Limit/Ruff Ryder artist Fiend is reportedly in talks with BitTorrent to explore the prospects of releasing mixtape bundles through the popular content distributor.

“When the discussion began with BitTorrent, it became apparent that that Bundle format could help us reinvent and grow 2.0 mixtape culture,” said the label/group’s Digital Marketing & Brand Strategist Austin Leigh to BitTorrent’s blog. “Jet Life has built a massive audience by embracing a D.I.Y., direct-to-fan mentality from the start. We’ve always put listeners first. BitTorrent allows us to reach these fans – as well as one of the largest audiences online.”

Jet Life’s first bundle with BitTorrent will release on July 30. In addition to music, the bundle will reportedly include contest opportunities, interactive posters and tour video footage.

After releasing Live In Concert with Wiz Khalifa earlier this year on Atlantic Records, Curren$y is currently at work on Pilot Talk III. The album is presently without a release date.
