The Roots will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC), April 21, and will debut their new single, “Don’t Say Nothin.'” Their seventh album “The Tipping Point” is slated to hit stores on June 29th and will feature Okayplayer Jean Grae Martin Luther, Devin the Dude, guitarist Captain Kirk Douglas, producer Scott Storch and comedian Dave Chappelle. According to ?uestlove, “’The Tipping Point’ is the sum of our 6 records and our 12 years as a band. Most of our album titles are chosen to reflect on the mood of where the group is and we feel as though this album is our biggest step.” Mark your calendars…

So of course the big news right now is that Dre has scrapped “Detox,” his highly anticipated and oft-delayed third LP. He is more comfortable just producing he says. Great, then give us a gotdamn Dr. Dre Presents album featuring all the emcees you work with…they are the one’s writing your rhymes anyway. I just want another LP produced front to back from the good doctor. Is that so much to ask???
