Three years ago the Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) introduced a four level censorship guideline. According to the act, the first two levels deal with explicit content while the third prohibits the sale of music that meets these criteria to be sold to those under 18 years of age.

Brooklyn’s own Necro as well as Khia (best known for “My Neck, My Back”); have been banned in Australia because of this act. In particular, it is Necro’s “Brutality Pt.1” and Khia’s “Thug Misses” that have met the level three criteria.

In fact, they are the first artists to fall into this third level censorship. Perhaps Necro’s next album will garner him a level four ban, which is an absolute ban on an artist.
