With the underground hip-hop world long conquered by El-Producto, the former Co Flow front man and Def Jux founder trying his hand at jazz. “High Water (Mark)” sees El teaming up with live jazz outfit The Blue Series Continuum.

Musicians William Parker, Matthew Shipp, Daniel Carter, Guillermo E. Brown and Roy Williams have blended their live jazz with El-P’s distinctive production; an experimental project that will likely garner El heaps for critical acclaim. The album, which drops on Thirsty Ear on March 9th (the same day as “Definitive Jux Presents 3” incidentally), features last years 10” masterpiece “Sunrise Over Bklyn.”
