The collection of Evidence, Rakaa Iriscience and DJ Babu have become the west coast version of Gang Starr in some ways. Much like the legendary duo, Dilated brings that sound that is often just described as “pure hip-hop.” Despite their major label contracts, neither have ever compromised their style. And who could forget, both have DJ’s holding them down on the wheels…which is evident on every track.
Dilated capitalized on the tremendous following they had gained via their 12”s with “The Platform” in 1999. They followed that up in two years with another critically acclaimed album in “Expansion Team.” March 23rd will see the release of their next opus, “Neighborhood Watch.” The album is produced by the Evidence, Babu, Alchemist, Reef, Nucleus and Joey Chavez. Guest spots include Planet Asia, Defari, Phil Da Agony and Devin The Dude.
