Does the media just like stirring up shit? Or are Jay-Z and Damon Dash just trying to downplay what is really happening? Despite both Jay and Dash both denying the rumor on numerous occasions, certain media outlets continue to insist that they are not getting along.
The latest came on Wednesday when the New York post reported that due to their differences Jay-Z is in talks with Def Jam to start his own venture. They claim that the two do not agree on the direction of Roc-A-Fella and that Jay is unhappy with Dash’s insistence on being a public figure.
A spokesperson for Dash said, “As far as Damon’s concerned, Roc-A-Fella remains intact. There’s no tension.” Dash has also refuted the claims in the past, simply saying that Jay and him just don’t spend as much time together because they have different responsibilities.
A representative for Jay-Z offered a similar statement saying, “There is no friction. Jay and Damon have been diversifying. Damon has been focusing on movies, and Jay on music.” An unnamed source also said the two recently vacationed together in St. Barths.
