Best known as the man behind the boards for underground favs the Cunninlynguists, Kno’s “The White Albulum” has been getting plenty of hype since he announced his intentions to remix Jay’s opus. Kno’s recent release of a 7 minute sample (via their message board at qn5.com), has only heightened the expectations. The album should drop late this month.
The latest Black Album remix to be announced comes in the form of “The Grey Album” from Dangermouse (of DM & Jemini fame). The cleverly titled Grey Album is a combination of Jay’s “Black” vocals and samples of The Beatles “White Album.”
According to DM’s website, “The Grey Album is an art experiment/project that uses the full vocal content of Jay-Z’s Black Album recorded over new beats and production made using The Beatles White Album as the sole source of material.” This should be the most interesting of the bunch, that is for sure.
