While some argue that LL Cool J’s 20 year music career is on its last legs, Gatorade certainly feels that Cool James still has plenty of influence. LL will be appearing in Gatorade’s upcoming 30 second spots during several bowl games.

The first rapper or musician to endorse Gatorade, LL will perform a customized rap for the product conveying the usual message. In the months following the debut, a clipped 15 second ad will be widely shown.

“Music has always provided the emotional heartbeat to our commercials,” said Cindy Alston, VP of Communications and Equity development of Gatorade. “LL Cool J’s talent and passion that he brings to this ad help us connect in a powerful way with both athletes and sports fans.”
