Press Release:

Def Jam Recording Artist, Ghostface Killah of the Wu-Tang Clan, will join the owners of the newly re-launched Troop apparel company, Ross Fredmand and Duke Wu, at The Bowery Mission to kick off the holiday season by giving away 1,000 sleeping bags to New York City homeless on Monday, November 24th, from 11am-12:15pm, at 227 Bowery (between Prince and Spring), Manhattan.

The ONE THOUSAND SLEEPING BAGS PARTNERSHIP will initiate Troop’s annual commitment to charitable giving. Troop owner and Design Director, Ross Fredman came up with the idea after years of charitable giving. “We’ve been donating clothing as an annual Troop tradition, but this year we wanted to do something special. All my life I’ve seen homeless in the parks struggling through the cold winter months. Struggling just to stay alive through the night. These sleeping bags are something that would make an immediate difference in people’s lives. Potentially save lives.”

At Monday’s event, Ghostface, who has been featured in Troop’s Holiday and Spring ad campaigns, will be personally handing out the sleeping bags alongside Troop owners, and speaking with guests of The Bowery Mission and will also be initiating a “Hat and Glove Drive,” encouraging the community to bring new or gently worn hats and gloves to The Bowery Mission in exchange for an autographed photo of Ghostface. Troop will also outfit a group of exemplary graduates of The Bowery Mission Disciple Program.
