From Lil Wayne to Bumpy Knuckles, Kansas City icon Tech N9ne’s known for putting together fan-favorite collaborations – he’s even got an entire series of album dedicated to such tracks. Now, in a recent interview with Faygoluvers, the Strange Music impresario discusses one of his most widely anticipated collabs with R.A. the Rugged Man.

Tech explained that the song, tentatively titled “Hallelujah,” is set to appear on the Rugged Man’s upcoming LP Legends Never Die. He said that he and R.A. first connected through a mutual friend – Tech’s publicist Richie Abbott – a number of years prior. He even added that the Long Island emcee had asked him to appear in his film Bad Biology, but that Tech declined due to the unusual and overly graphic content.

“I didn’t write [my verse] according to [the idea of] ‘Hallelujah,’ but the beat was called ‘Hallelujah,’ I didn’t know it was saying that in the background, but I wrote what I felt and it’s super lyrical because R.A.’s super lyrical,” he explained. “R.A., me and him have been cool for some years because my publicist Richie Abbott is like his brother. We went out to dinner, we’ve done clubs together laughing at motherfuckers…we’ve been there before…R.A., he’s laid back; he’s the Rugged Man…he’s a real dude.”

He added, “I was supposed to shoot a movie with him – he wanted me to be this thing that fucked these pussy-heads. I was like, ‘I’m not gonna fuck them pussy-heads, R.A.’ It was like a monster movie and the bitches [in the movie] had beautiful bodies but had pussy faces, and I was supposed to be the horny motherfucker fucking their faces. I was like, ‘I’m not gonna do that, R.A., I love you but I’m not gonna do that.'”
