From the GZA to Bun B to even the Based God, Hip Hop has slowly but surely been taking over college campuses across the country. Now, David Banner is throwing his hat into the academic ring with a new lecture.

Emilio Sparks reports that Banner will take part in “The LA Riots: Twenty Years Later” conference at Harvard University on April 27 and 28. The conference will examine the Los Angeles riots in 1992 and how the social issues that sparked those uprisings still plague society today.

Banner will be joined by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and panelists from Harvard University, NYU, Temple University and others at the conference.

In other news, an emcee from the Bay Area is now in custody on murder charges. AllHipHop reports that rapper Baygreen of the Crest Creepaz turned himself into police custody over the February 14 murder of 23 year old Danell Lashawn Stevens.
