Back in 2008, movie fans were shocked and saddened when news broke that acclaimed actor Heath Ledger died of a drug overdose following the wrapping of production on the film The Dark Knight. Now, T-Pain is channeling his inner Joker with his upcoming mixtape The Heath Ledger Project.
According to a recent interview with Rap-Up, the newly signed YMCMB singer announced the release of his next mixtape The Heath Ledger Project. Although the title of the project may seem ominous, T-Pain explains that the title refers to the passion with which Ledger pursued his craft, and that he wants his own fans to understand that he is as dedicated to his music as Ledger was for acting.
“Well, you know how [Ledger] died. He kind of went crazy because he was so into being the Joker,” he explained. “After they finished shooting [The Dark Knight], he couldn’t stop being the Joker. I think he went so crazy trying to master his craft that he died for what he loved doing. He died mastering his craft…It’s going to be called The Heath Ledger Project because that’s how much I love music. That’s how much passion I have for music. I want to master my craft like [Ledger] tried to do before he died.”
DX will keep you updated as more information on the mixtape comes to light.
