As expected, Madonna’s performance on Sunday (February 5) at halftime of the Super Bowl was a big production.

What was unexpected, however, was the involvement of several Hip Hop artists in her performance.

Nicki Minaj was on hand with M.I.A. to join the Material Girl for her new single, “Give Me All Your Luvin,” which concluded with what is sure to be a controversial middle finger to the camera from M.I.A.

Cee Lo Green was also on hand, assisting with portions of “Open Your Heart,” “Express Yourself,” and “Like a Prayer.”

Also involved in the performance were LMFAO, who performed portions of their hits “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It.”

Aside from last year’s performance by the Black Eyed Peas, this year’s halftime show marks the first Hip Hop performers involved in the event since Super Bowl XXXVIII, which included performances from P. Diddy and Nelly, and ended with the infamous Janet Jackson “wardrobe malfunction.”
