After switching labels, Asher Roth still awaits the release of his long-delayed album, Is This Too Orange? Roth, whose last official release was 2009’s Asleep in the Bread Aisle, spoke with Bootleg Kev about what’s taken him so long to release a second project.

“We really had some issues,” he explained. “I don’t want to use the word ‘politically,’ because that’s pushing the blame elsewhere – I definitely had some blame on myself with just being a jerk, and not cooperating, so to speak. We had some real issues with the powers that be.”

We were pretty quiet on the mainstream, and this is the information era,” revealed Roth. “Two years is a really long time. You should technically be gone. Wiped away.”

“Wale and I went through a lot of the similar stuff. A lot of similar stuff. The Cool Kids and I. A lot of the similar stuff.”
