The album release year is coming to a close. After blockbuster releases last week from Common and Young Jeezy (The Dreamer / The Believer and Thug Motivation 103, respectively), the lone release this week is Casual’s He Think He #RapGod, in a year of comebacks from the Hieroglyphics camp.
At the top of 2012 is Statik Selektah’s latest collaborative release, an effort with Los Angeles/San Diego trio, Strong Arm Steady. Veteran indie emcee Sha Stimuli has another project in the cannon – along with a book, as the restless Necro has another EP reportedly in the chamber before his full-length collaboration with lyrical legend Kool G. Rap.
High-profile releases from Kid Cudi, Juvenile and Nicki Minaj are planned for the first six weeks of the new year as well, hopefully allowing fans to reflect on and still discover the many releases of 2011.
