As saddening news has hit us this year from the graffiti world (such as the possible closing of the famed Five Pointz complex in Queens, New York and the recent cancellation of the “Arts in the Streets” exhibit which was once slated to run at the Brooklyn Museum), two men have managed to bring followers of the scene something to look forward to. Sacha Jenkins has once again teamed up with David “Chino” Villorente to release World Piecebook: Global Graffiti Drawings, the third installment in their popular Piecebook series of books.
World Piecebook is unique in that it holds true to the blackbook-style drawings of the books before it, but its focus is on graffiti writers outside of the United States. Featured in the book are Daim (Germany), Zek (Canada), Jay Flow (Korea), Sirum (Australia), and more. Clocking in at 176 pages, the book features 120 color illustrations which will prove to readers that graffiti continues to be a thriving art form around the world despite the legal setbacks it faces.
World Piecebook is available for purchase on Amazon.
