Common Preparing Memoir For 2011, "One Day It'll All Make Sense"

With roles in “American Gangster,” “Wanted,” “Smokin’ Aces” and nearly a dozen other movies, Common is adding the title of author to his resume. The Chicago native will release the memoir One Day It Will All Make Sense via Atria books next year. The work, which takes its title from Common’s 1997 album will be co-written by Adam Brantley.

According to a press release from Atria, “It will tell of Common’s childhood in the South Side of Chicago and his entertainment career, including the Grammy-winning collaboration with Kanye West, ‘Southside,’ and such films as ‘American Gangster.’”

The release should make for a busy year for Common, who is preparing his ninth studio album, The Believer. In addition to being the distributor for Cash Money’s book publishing company Atria is the publishing home to bestselling authors such as T.D. Jakes, Jennifer Weiner, Shirley MacLaine, and Rhonda Byrne—who penned the international bestseller, The Secret.
