Ice said: “When I was in the studio with Taylor, I’ll never forget that. She told me, ‘No matter what, just keep making music and everything’s going to be fine.'”
Ice also answered a question about what she’s looking for as she preps her debut album, noting that the first thing she needs is a good beat.

“First, a really hard beat. If the beat doesn’t instantly move me — like if I don’t physically feel the beat of the speakers — then I’m just going to keep moving on to the next one,” she said. “But as soon as I know, I know I have that beat. It’s up from there.”
The “Deli” MC also spoke on her relationship with Nicki Minaj when asked about her favorite top 10 track of 2023.

“‘Princess Diana’ with Nicki [Minaj] because I felt like ‘Princess Diana’ was already my best song on [Like…?], but then it didn’t chart or anything until Nicki got on it. I was just so happy to have both of those worlds where I felt like it was culturally a great song, but also it charted. And then I had my dream collab fulfilled at the same time.”
Taylor and Ice have been building their friendship since they linked up for “Karma” last year. Shortly after that song dropped, the duo sat together like besties at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
In an interview with Variety, Ice Spice explained how the collab even happened, and what they talked about as they giggled the night away at the VMAs.
“That’s my sis. We was talking about a bunch of things,” she said. “She’s so funny. We was sipping on a little something something. Just chatting, vibing.”

As for the collab, it happened after Ice expressed her enthusiasm about Swift’s 2020 documentary Miss Americana to her team.
“What I took away from Taylor’s documentary is you really do need to work hard, and not everything is going to be as easy as it seems,” she said. “And my manager heard me talking about that and had reached out to her team, and then they had a song for me.”
