Ice Spice has shared a story about the time she took Drake’s plane, revealing that the gesture didn’t suggest that they were “besties.”
In a profile with Rolling Stone that launched on Thursday (July 25), Ice spoke about her relationship with Drizzy, among other topics.

She began: “We was on the jet like, ‘Wait, Drake’s flying us out? Like, gag. When we saw him, I was like, ‘Nah, this is crazy.’ He’s just casually there. There’s mad random people around, and he’s just, like, blending in somehow.”
The “Princess Diana” rapper also said that she hopes she can work with Drake at some point in the future, before revealing the nature of their relationship: “We talk, but we never really was on some bestie shit. He’s excited for Y2K!, he told me.”

She also reflected on the beef between The 6 God and Kendrick Lamar. She refused to take sides, having said: “I’m a music lover. So, I appreciate the sport of it — I think it’s really cool.”
Part of the reason why Ice Spice and Drake may never be besties is because of subliminal shots fired in the past.

Back in February of 2023, Drake un-followed and then re-followed the “Munch” rapper on Instagram following an initial meet-up in Toronto.
Drake and Ice Spice first linked in August 2022 after the 24-year-old caught the former’s attention with her breakout hit “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and freestyle on On the Radar Radio. This led to Drizzy flying her out to Toronto to attend his OVO Fest, where fans captured photos of Ice in the crowd.
Recalling the surprise encounter with Drake, she told Spotify’s RapCaviar at the time: “Linking up with him was so cool. Like, he’s mad nice and respectful. We went to OVO Fest. It was exciting because it was like his first time performing in Toronto, I think in like a couple of years. So it was just a movie, everybody was excited.”
However, he seemingly dissed her on “BackOutsideBoyz” off his Her Loss album with 21 Savage.

“She a 10 tryna rap, it’s good on mute,” Drake raps on the song, which prompted a response from Ice on Twitter when it dropped in November. “At least ima 10 [shrugging emoji] [laughing with tears emoji],” she tweeted.
But months later, Ice Spice shut down any notion of a rift when asked about the situation in an interview with The New York Times. “We’re cool,” she said. “We spoke after that a couple times and we’re good. There’s no beef.”
