Drake is an artist who wears his heart on his sleeve but isn’t ashamed to let you know which woman broke it. Over the last 15 years, Drake has never shied away from talking about the women of his life on record. In this 8-minute video, a number of lyrics from Drake’s biggest hits are dissected to analyze each woman and the role they played in his life.

“It’s a shame you didn’t keep it/Alisha, Catya, I know that you gon’ hear this,” Drake raps.
Catya Washington was Drake’s ex-girlfriend who was featured in 2009’s “Best I Ever Had” music video. She was also a cast member on the Bad Girls Club.
Successful: So Far Gone (2009)
“Wise words from a decent man/Back when I was trying to put a ring on Alisha hand,” Drake raps.
Drake first mentions his ex-girlfriend Alisha on his 2009 hit single, “Successful” featuring Trey Songz. In a recent interview with Lil Yachty, Drake told the rapper about the reception he received once he got a diamond chain made called “Previous Engagements” to commemorate the 42 times he wanted to propose, but didn’t go through with it.
“And then people being like, you’re sick,” Drake told Yachty. “Like you thought of proposing 42 times. Do we not get that this a conceptual art piece?”

Tuscan Leather: Nothing Was The Same (2013)
“The one that I needed was Courtney from Hooters on Peachtree/I’ve always been feeling like she was the piece to complete me,” the Toronto artist raps.
On this track, Drake references multiple women, but the most prominent one mentioned was Courtney, who worked at a Hooters restaurant on Peachtree St. in Atlanta. Drake spills a few of her personal affairs on record, which could allude to the comments he made to Lil Yachty in the aforementioned interview about feeling “regret” for mentioning his exes in his music.
“I hate hearing that shit,” Drizzy said while reflecting on him rapping about wanting to retire at 35 on 2016’s “Weston Road Flows.”
“I heard it the other night. I think that and some times when I’ve said girls’ names in songs, maybe those are the two things that I look back on and I’m like, ‘Maybe I coulda done without, like, shitting on people for age or disrupting somebody’s life.’”
He continued: “The lyrics are never with ill intent, but I had somebody tell me one time, ‘You know, it’s not necessarily what you’re saying about me, it’s the fact that you said it.’”
