Havoc has taken a moment to pay homage to his late friend and collaborator Prodigy on the seventh anniversary of the Mobb Deep rapper’s passing.

Prodigy died in Las Vegas on June 20, 2017 due to accidental choking during a hospital stint related to his long, well-documented battle with sickle cell disease.

“Missing my brother,” Hav wrote on Instagram alongside a few photos of P on Thursday (June 20). “Today marks 7 years, feels like just yesterday we were rocking them stages and reflecting on our journey,” Havoc wrote on Instagram

In a second post, he shared a throwback of him and P and captioned it, “Day one’s.”

Last month, Havoc told TMZ Hip Hop that Tray Chaney and JD Williams — who played Poot and Bodie on The Wirewould be perfect to portray Mobb Deep on the big screen.

“I couldn’t find a better pair of iconic actors, to portray and capture the legacy of Mobb Deep!!!” he said to the outlet.

The casting speculation came up because Chaney has been campaigning for exactly this.

“HISTORY Continues To Repeat Itself! YO I want that MOBB DEEP STORY Next. Me & JD can Play HAVOC & PRODIGY! Havoc Is My Brother & when Prodigy was here in the physical form we chopped it up plenty of times I even starred in one of his videos! I’m a push for this to happen!” he wrote on X days prior.

He included photos of times he and Williams had been onscreen together.

While no official Mobb Deep biopic has been announced, Havoc has been keeping himself busy.

In addition to joining forces with Ras Kass and RJ Payne to form the super-group GUTTR, the legendary producer revealed that a new Mobb Deep album with posthumous vocals from Prodigy is currently in the works, and that he’s also recording a project with Method Man.

“I’m actively working on a Mobb Deep album now, as we speak. The family blessed me with a bunch of vocals [by Prodigy] and soon as I leave here, I’m goin’ back to work,” he said in an interview on People’s Party last summer.
