Future has added another accolade to his collection after being crowned the 2022 “Trapper of the Year” by T.I.’s Trap Music Museum.
On Tuesday (May 30), Trap Music Museum’s official Instagram page made the announcement regarding the unique honor for the “Mask Off” rapper.

“Join us in celebrating our Trapper Of The Year and immerse yourself in a world of captivating art at our annual exhibit unveiling on June 8th, from 7pm to 11pm!!!,” the post read.
According to XXL, Future will be given a custom-made “Trapper of the Year” ring, which was constructed by Ice Box Jewelry, and honored with an entire art exhibit in his honor at the museum. Music for the event will be curated by DJ Major Key.
The Trap Music Museum, which opened in Atlanta in 2019, previously gave Moneybagg Yo the “Trapper of the Year” award back in 2021.
Future is a deserving recipient this time around thanks to his blockbuster year in 2022, which was highlighted by the success of his I Never Liked You album.
Following its release last May, the project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 at the same time his song “Wait For U” occupied the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. In doing so, the Freebandz boss became only the second rapper ever to simultaneously debut atop both charts after Drake.
It was later reported that he was the only Hip Hop act to spend the entirety of 2022 on the Billboard Hot 100, outdoing contemporaries like Kendrick Lamar, Lil Baby and Drake, who failed to manage the feat even after dropping two albums — Honestly, Nevermind and Her Loss with 21 Savage — last year.

Future’s stellar campaign was reflected in his six nominations at the 2023 Grammy Awards. Despite losing out to Kendrick in the Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song categories, Pluto took home the award for Best Melodic Rap Performance for “Wait For U” — marking the second Grammy win of his career.
Refusing to rest on his laurels, Future has been hard at work in the studio and is reportedly plotting a joint album with frequent collaborator Metro Boomin, as well as a third installment in his Dirty Sprite series.
