Funk Flex apparently thinks it’s not okay for a married woman like Jada Pinkett Smith to mourn an old friend like 2Pac — if that friend happens to be a guy.
The Hot 97 DJ took issue recently with Jada’s reaction to the recent arrest of alleged Tupac Shakur killer Duane “Keefe D” Davis. On Friday (September 29), Pinkett Smith, who met 2Pac on her first day of high school at Baltimore School for the Arts, responded to the news with an Instagram message reading: “Now I hope we can get some answers and have some closure. R.I.P. Pac.”

Flex decided to clap back on IG by sharing a screenshot of a TMZ headline about Pinkett Smith’s message, and commented: “This is the worst type of woman! Always focused on an old guy! Stay focused on Will! He’s alive and here!”

Smith admitted in his 2021 memoir Will that in the early stages of his relationship with Pinkett Smith, he was “tortured by [the] connection” between Jada and Pac. “I hated that I wasn’t what he was in the world, and I suffered a raging jealousy,” he wrote.
“He was one of my best friends,” Pinkett Smith has said of ‘Pac. “He was like a brother … The type of relationship we had, you only get that once in a lifetime. He was like a brother/father figure to me.”
When not criticizing women for mourning friends of the opposite sex, Funk Flex has been busy insulting rival DJs. He and Rick Ross spent nine-plus minutes of airtime recently attacking Breakfast Club hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God — the former for his alleged involvement with a real estate scam.
