Producer and frequent Frank Ocean collaborator Michael Uzowuru recently confirmed in an interview with The New York Times that the “Pyramids” singer was working on new music.

Detailing his work with the enigmatic and often elusive R&B star, the article reads: “Uzowuru would go on to contribute to his acclaimed 2016 LP Blonde, and lend a hand to his visual album, Endless. In the following years, the two teamed up on the understated hit ‘Chanel’ and the plucky, anxious’ ‘In My Room.’

“More recently, they’ve been working on new music together in Miami.”

Frank himself praised Uzowuru, telling the publication: “Me and Michael’s careers exist post Hip Hop — that genre, that culture, informs both of us greatly. But his appetite has grown; his vocabulary, musically, has grown so much over the time that I’ve known him.”

It’s unclear which project, if any, the music is intended for, with the article noting that Uzowuru is “sitting on an unreleased solo album,” described as “an ambient record he occasionally sends to friends.”

Frank Ocean last released two standalone tracks in 2020 titled “Dear April” and “Cayendo,” and put on a poorly received headline set at Coachella in 2023 which saw him cancel his scheduled performance for the second weekend of the festival.
